The overlook trail leaves the visitor center and winds about three-quarters of a mile through hardwood forest to a fenced platform looking down on Cummins Falls - a 75-foot plunge into the Blackburn Fork gorge. The popular swimming hole at the base requires a separately purchased gorge access permit plus willingness to scramble; the overlook itself is free and family-friendly. Dogs welcome on leash.
