Forked Pine Trail

A short, rolling loop through towering loblolly pines and hardwoods, the hilliest of Chickasaw State Park's footpaths.

Forked Pine leaves the main parking area and climbs gently through stands of planted loblolly pine and mixed hardwood on the higher ground above Lake Placid, with enough elevation change to earn its moderate rating. Packed dirt and pine straw make for soft footing. It links to the Friends and Lake Shore trails, so you can stitch together a longer circuit of the park's CCC-era forest.
