From the Gabes Mountain trailhead at Cosby the trail climbs through rich hardwood forest before a short, steep side path drops to the base of the falls at about 2.1 miles. Hen Wallow Creek is only a couple of feet wide at the lip but fans out to twenty or thirty feet across the rock face at the bottom. The final pitch to the base is steep and rooty.
