The trail runs through a hemlock forest for about a third of a mile before reaching a level boardwalk that ends at an overlook of the cliffs and river below, often busy with rock climbers on the opposite walls. The boardwalk's level grade makes the view reachable for most visitors. From here the Point, Bridge, and Boulder Field trails connect for longer outings in the gorge.
