Starting just past the Elkmont Campground, this wide, nearly level path traces a reclaimed Little River Lumber Company rail bed with the river in view nearly the whole way. Most hikers turn around at Huskey Branch Falls, where the creek spills across the trail, for a roughly 4.9-mile round trip with only about 400 feet of gain. Its easy grade and constant water make it one of the most family-friendly streamside walks in the area.
