The natural-surface loop meanders through pine and hardwood forest, skirting Pine Lake and two other lakes, with the Woodland Discovery Playground along the way. The grade is gentle with minimal elevation change, making it an easy family outing close to the city. Parking, restrooms, and water are at the Pine Lake lot beside the visitor center.
